Please, not The Donald

Ordinarily, I am not a very political person. That is not to say that I do not vote or have viewpoints regarding politics and politicians, but I make it a practice to keep my opinions more or less to myself because I have so many friends and family members who do not always align with me politically. But, I simply cannot keep quiet when it comes to Donald Trump. He scares the pants off of me. The very fact that he has gotten as far as he has illustrates just how many people in this country are in line with his rhetoric. America was founded on the idea of liberty and justice for all. We have always reached out to the downtrodden. I know the world has changed since the eighteenth century, but surely, America has not changed so radically that we would elect a man who openly denigrates women, Muslims and Hispanics – a man who believes being rich is more important than being good. Donald Trump is a hot head and a bully, not at all the kind of person who should conduct sensitive negotiations with fractious world leaders, or worse, have possession of our nuclear codes.
